If you are traveling with adults over the age of 13 and your travels to Costa Rica are bringing you anywhere near the La Fortuna area, you may be wondering where to stay near Arenal Volcano. Well, you have to check out, what we would now call, one of the best hotels near Arenal Volcano. This was our second visit to Costa Rica and it was love at first sight for my husband and I when we pulled up to Amor Arenal, a secluded adults only hotel.
Two years ago our family took our first ever vacation paid for with points and miles and It. Was. The. Best. Our destination? Costa Rica! The country that seems to have it all: good food, good coffee, great people, lush rainforests, beautiful beaches, wildlife and adventure. If you’re looking for suggestions for visiting Costa Rica with your family, you can read more about our first visit to Costa Rica and our 10 day itinerary here, because today’s post is all about our anniversary trip and our stay at the Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo. We left the kids behind for 3 nights of relaxation, 5 star treatment, and pure vida. Our trip started at the Amor Arenal in La Fortuna, about 2 1/2 hours away and ended at the Hyatt Andaz. Both were excellent but read on to see our full Andaz Costa Rica review, what we loved, and what we would have changed.
Fort Myers has become somewhat of a second home for us. Ever since my parents moved their several years ago we seem to make it to southwest Florida about 2 or 3 times a year. And because my parents have lived there since we started having kids, we have tackled quite a few of the family friendly attractions in the Fort Myers area. If you have a visit planned in the near future, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of things to do in Fort Myers with kids, regardless of their ages!
Last week our family spent 5 nights at the recently opened Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana all-inclusive resort. I’m just going to go all in with the cheese and say, it was a “dream!” Really! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The staff, the food, the entertainment, the beach, the pools… all of it was beyond what we expected. And now that we’re back I wanted to share more about our experience for anyone considering a vacation at this Dreams Resort location by putting together a Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana review.
One of best ways to make traveling with kids less of a hassle, is to be prepared for airport security. Between the large crowds, the juggling of all the gear, and the wrangling of all those kids, airport security can feel a little bit like herding cats.
If you know Florida weather, you know that you will almost definitely encounter a rain shower or two during your Disney vacation. The good news is that Disney World in the rain is still Disney World, and there is still plenty of fun to be had even if you get a little wet in the process.
