Are you in the midst of planning a trip to Disney World and starting to feel some sticker shock?? I am here to tell you that it’s not just you… you are not cheap and you are not alone. Disney World is just expensive, especially if you don’t know where to find the savings. But, that’s where I come in!
Visiting Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World for the first time with 3 Stars Wars loving boys was awesome. Any Disney lover knows that they go all out when it comes to theming, and Galaxy’s Edge is a prime example of that. We would all agree that one of the best parts of the day was watching them participate in the hands on experiences. My two older boys got to build lightsabers but we thought it would be better for our 6 year old to build a droid (more on that later).
If you know Florida weather, you know that you will almost definitely encounter a rain shower or two during your Disney vacation. The good news is that Disney World in the rain is still Disney World, and there is still plenty of fun to be had even if you get a little wet in the process.
Our most recent visit to Disney World just happened to be smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Eta. While it ended up not being the complete catastrophe I expected it to be, we definitely had our fair share of downpours that week. And as I was navigating the park with 3 kids in the rain I knew I had to write a post when I got home for anyone who is planning a trip and wondering, “what do you do at Magic Kingdom when it rains?”
If you’ve stumbled upon this post you likely have a family trip to Disney World scheduled this year and you’re starting to think about what you’re all going to wear (mom, check out this post just for you). Maybe you’re thinking about that photo you’re going to take in front of the castle and you want to get everyone’s outfits just right. Or maybe you want matching shirts for every day of your trip. Because did you even go to Disney World if you didn’t at some point wear matching Disney family shirts? I think not.
You’ve made lists, gone shopping, made dining reservations, purchased discounted Disney gift card and packed your Mickey ears. But no matter how well you plan there will always be unexpected expenses that pop up on your trip that you may not have budgeted for. So my hope is that this list of unexpected expenses on your Walt Disney World vacation will help you to be ready for anything that comes your way, making for a more enjoyable, stress free time!
Ever since my husband and I started using points and miles to travel I have seen more and more that the perks of using credit cards are so much more than just the points you earn for using them. If you have any Chase branded credit cards you could be getting discounts on Disney gift cards (or any gift card for that matter) of up to 10% through a program called Chase Offers.
Does anyone else ever google, “What to wear in Disney World,” or “What to wear on an airplane,” before going on vacation?
I have literally searched, “Outfits to Wear to a Baseball Game” looking for inspiration. I know. I’m such a nerd. But I can’t be the only one because there are actual articles out there with those titles!
And now I’m writing one. Because I know someone else out there is googling, “What to wear to Disney World,” wanting to make sure they’re on the right track with their packing game.
I get gift cards all the time for things like eating out or going to the movies. Sometimes I get them from rebate apps like Fetch Rewards, sometimes I redeem credit card points for gift cards, and sometimes we’ll get them as gifts for birthdays or Christmas. But what does this have to do with how to save for a Disney vacation? Well, there is a strategy I’ve been using ever since we started saving for our Disney World vacation that has really given our travel budget a boost. And like most of the tips you’ll find on this blog, this strategy can be used to save for any big trip you have planned. But keep reading to find out how you can turn any gift card into savings for Disney.
Today I’m going to combine 3 of my favorite things in one post:
and Stuffing My Face
Does it get any better than that? I think not.
I’ve compiled every tip I have in my arsenal for how to eat cheap at Disney World so that you can start getting your game plan together for your own trip, whenever that may be. Yes, I realize they are still closed, but the day is coming when life as we knew it will be restored! Right? Right? Please someone tell me that day is coming!
